Friday we spend the day in Arlington at the Special Olympics Summer Games. Paul's company was a corporate sponsor so he and some of his coworkers volunteered to work the event. Today we attended the Chinese Lantern Festival at a local Museum of Asian Art. The lantern festival signifies the end of the Chinese New Year celebrations. Avery had her 18 month check with the pediatrician yesterday. She weighed in at a whoppin' 24lbs, 6oz and is 33 inches tall. She is now in the 50th percentile for weight and the 75th percentile for height. She has made such great progress in the few months that she has been home. 6 months ago today our lives changed forever. We held our little girl in our arms!! Sometimes it seems as if she has always been with us and sometimes it seems it was just yesterday that we were boarding that plane bound for China. According to my calendar tomorrow is the first day of Fall. That means summer is officially over. We definitely wanted it to end in a bang and we accomplished that!! We left yesterday and are currently initiating Avery to the world of camping (Paul and Robyn style). The weather has been perfect: 80's during the day and 50's at night.
