Happy 12th Birthday to our "miracle baby"!!!!
Kolin had a very rough start in life. He was born at just 28 weeks gestation, weighing 2 lbs 6 oz. He suffered many medical problems and had quite a few setbacks his first couple of years This is Kolin while he was still in the neonatal intensive care unit where he lived for the first 5 months of his life.
Here he is at one and a half.
Kolin wore oxygen past his second birthday. It was really humorous to see him learn how to walk teathered to oxygen tubing. It did not take him long to figure out when he ran out of line. He would simply turn around grab hold of the tubing and pull with all his might!!
This is Kolin today:
He is a happy, healthy, 6th grader and we thank God for him.
Kolin was our families first experience with premature babies. My mom has been a long-time participate in the annual March of Dimes walk it took on a whole new meaning when Kolin was born.
I have since met many kids born premature including my friend Jamie's son Parker. Jamie is part of our M3 posse and is waiting for Parker's little sister to come home from China. Jamie has organized a team for the March of Dimes walk this year. Paul and I will are proud to be members of "Parker's Peeps". We will walk in honor of Parker and Kolin and all the other babies out there that have a little rough start in life.
Once again, Happy Birthday Kolin. We love you very much!!!
