Is there such a thing as Disney withdrawals?

If you know Paul and me personally then you know we have a love for all things Disney. Especially the theme parks. When we made our first visit to Walt Disney World in 1996 there was an instant attraction to the atmosphere, the rides, the child-like state. We knew we would return again and again. Soon after that trip we added Disneyland to our favorite vacation spots. It soon became a pattern to visit the "world" in the even years and the "land" in the odd years. As a matter of fact during our trip to Disneyland in 2005 we made the decision to pursue Chinese adoption. We both know all the parks (4@ the world and 2@ the land) like we know our own home. We have strategies to minimize wait times, we know the best time of year to go, we even know where the outlet stores are around the parks that sell actual park merchandise. We are self proclaimed Disney park freaks!!!

Anyway since we anticipated Avery's homecoming in 2006 (when the wait was 6 months) we could not wait to make our annual pilgrimage to the east. As the wait lengthened we put off our trip because we wanted to be able to experience the next trip with our daughter. Since it is apparent that we will not be visiting Disney again this year we are starting to get very antsy. Could a trip to Hong Kong Disney be in our future?????

All I can say is look out Walt Disney World in 2008 because "The K's" will be back and this time we WILL have our daughter with us.

What has really got me thinking about this is that a very dear friend left on Saturday to visit the world and I also have a co-worker leaving today for the same place. I told them both to have a great time but to also tell Mickey that we have not forgotten him and we still love him and we will be back soon!!

Ooh, I love getting to be first to comment! I am catching up on a few blogs since we are skipping playgroup.

I can't wait to take Grace to WDW. Since we are older [ha ha] and when she is tired all she wants is to be carried or on shoulders and will not sit in a stroller anymore, we are waiting until she can do it on her own. And without a nap to interrupt the fun.

There are just some things we decided to make our own family traditions and experience as a family first before going with friends. We call ourselves the M***** Trio and the 3 of us go to the Fair, to the pumpkin patch, and to see Santa Claus so Daddy can experience it with us. It is funny, Dave was not all that into the whole fertility thing but he was the one driving the adoption and did all the papwerwork and whatever else needed to happen. He does not want to miss out on anything.

Big hugs!!

Beth

Hi,
Yes there is such a thing as Disney withdrawl. We are also adopting from China and we are huge Disney fans!!!!! We recently became Disney Vacation Club members too. We also decided to finally adopt from China when we were in the Orlando airport returning from Disney in 2005!! we plan to go to HK disney too.

Well, you know that I too, have the Disney bug. I love me some Disneyland - I wasn't as impressed with DisneyWorld though...how sad is that? Does that mean I'm not really a Disney fanatic? I think not!

For what it's worth - we plan on trying to get to Hong Kong Disney, and we do plan on going with our kids to Disneyland as soon as humanly possible.

It's not just you...

Have no fear! We told Mickey, Minnie and the whole gang that y'all send your love and will be there soon with Avery. They sent their love and can't wait to meet Avery!

Love you, my friend!
K.

p.s. What is up with our friend who was not impressed with the World?!
