I guess you can tell that I wrote the majority of the previous post when I was inflight so I could give you all the details and such and then when actually posting it last night it changed to just: were here, were fine, were tired!!
So now I will fill you in on the rest of the flight with pictures:
Here we are at DFW waiting for the ticket counter to open. By wearing our shirts we made sure everyone knew were we were going and why. We got so many compliments and people telling how cute Avery is. Of course, we already knew that but I guess we are a little biased! We found out after we arrived in Beijing and checked in with family that massive storms moved in to the DFW area and alot of flights were cancelled. I sure am glad we got out when we did!!!
Hanging out in Chicago!!! Can you believe we are really "Going to China"???? Ignore the crazy look on Paul's face he was in the middle of eating lunch when I made him stop to take a picture!!
Still in Chicago....waiting for the next flight!!!
Settling in for the long flights. Me, Kathy, and mom spent a lot of time reading:
Paul and I also in some sleep. It was sporadic but at least it passed the time.
Dinner is served:
This was the last meal of our flight. They fed us pretty good considering it was airline food. When we first took off we had our choice of Chinese chicken and white rice or beef tips and mashed potatoes. Then midflight we had a snack of Ramen Noodles. Finally we had a choice of pasta or hot ham and cheese. Needless to say they did not want us to go hungry!
Between every movie (4 in all) they would show the screens of where we were, the temperature outside, and our altitude. It was a pretty cool way to keep up with our progress:
Notice the outside temp???? WOW!!!!
Here we are about to fly over land again!!
So all in all the long, long, long flight was pretty uneventful. We wound up arriving in Beijing a little late because of the delays mentioned in the last post but all is well!!
