Weather in Texas.......

You would think after living in Texas all my life I would be used to the erratic weather. This week has been a true example of mother nature at it's finest: Saturday and Sunday we had temps in the high 70's and were running around in shorts and t-shirts. Monday night we had snow!! It wasn't really hard enough to completely cover the ground but it was a great sight for us snow deprived people. Luckily the road were fine when we were coming home from work Tuesday morning and by noon the snow was virtually gone. Wednesday the temperature was in the 50's. Today.......well today was a whole nother story. It started snowing HARD before noon and by 4pm we has accumulated over 4 inches at our house. It really did look like a winter wonderland. We couldn't resist taking a few pictures since this much coverage is such a rarity.

The view out our front door.
If you make this photo larger hopefully you can see how hard the snow is falling.
We are probably going to have a lot of work to do cleaning up fallen branches when all this is over.

You have probably already checked out my dad's picture below but let me tell the "rest of the story" once he got on the ground to pose he couldn't get up (he had knee surgery recently so it's still a little stiff) so Paul had to go out to rescue him. First Dad tried to use Paul as an anchor and lift himself up.
No luck there even with Rowdy looking on to supervise!!
So he wound up using Paul as a "table" to brace himself on to get up using his good leg. All the while me, mom, and Kathy were standing by laughing so hard it was unbelievable.
Rowdy did not know what to think of the snow at first but he soon started running all over the yard to play.
When we brought him inside all these snowballs were literally frozen on him! We wound up putting him in the sink and squirting him with warm water to melt the snow.

So that's our snow adventure for 2008. It will probably be another year before we see snow again so we tried to enjoy it while we could.

Your dad, he is such a hoot!!! Sorry he got stuck.

My favorite picture is of Rowdy running around, brings back sweet memories of Kramer running around in the snow in his LandsEnd doggie squall parka.

Grace is begging for a Yorkie for her birthday. She wants a boy and has already named him.

Happy Friday!!
